Located in the Shevaroys range in the Eastern Ghats, Yercaud is a famous hill station in Salem District of Tamil Nadu. Ladies Seat, Gents Seat and Children Seat - Nature has shaped a cluster of rocks in the form of seats on the South-west of the Yercaud Hills that overlook the Ghat Road and the town of Salem making it one of the most frequently visited sites in the town. The view that appears before the eyes when one is seated on these rocks is simply spectacular. It is believed that Lady's Seat was the site where an English Lady of yesteryear would be seen seated every evening admiring the unparalleled beauty of the place and has been named thereafter. A sharp drop of around 200ft creates an ineffable mix of visual pleasure with fear. A man-made tower with telescopes is stationed here that helps one to see as far as the eyes can perceive on clear days. Be it magnesite deposits on the plains, view of the Mettur Dam or the night-view of Salem Town with millions of glittering lights, the place is a sheer amazement.
The Servaroyan Temple - The Servaroyan Temple is a narrow and dark cave dedicated to the God Servarayan and the Goddess Kaveri. These are the local deities who are deeply venerated in Shevaroy Hills and Cauvery River.

The place has got its name due to the presence of four mounds of stones that have been arranged in the shape of a pyramid and resemble temple towers. Known to be built by the locals, the Pagoda Point has a Rama Temple positioned in-between the stones which is a shrine dedicated to two anionic stones held in high reverence among Malayalis. The towering cliffs are undeniably every rock-climbers' delight.
Emerald Lake - The Emerald Lake or Big Lake is the placid lake is a major Yercaud attraction. Surrounded with wonderful lush green hills with "Deer Park" and "Leisure Park", this lake is adorned with a beautifully laid out ornamental garden which is a treat to the eye. This lake is the only natural lake among all the hill station lakes in the South. This lake boasts of a floating fountain at the centre of the lake, and facilities like boating etc.
