Mangalore is the closest airport at a distance of 225 km. The Bangalore airport is 260 km away from Kemmanagundi. Trains halt at Tarakere, the nearest railhead to this hill town. State Transport buses come to Kemmanagundi from Bangalore, but the most convenient way to get here is to drive.

Key Attractions/Sightseeing

Sightseeing in Kemmanagundi is all about soaking in the scenic view of the nature as numerous walking trails through the woods leads you to un-trodden paths and quiet glens. To catch a glimpse of the surrounding valley, climb up to Z point – the breathtaking views are stupendous from here.

About 8 km walk from town are the Hebbe Falls. This 168 meters high waterfall is broken half way by a rock ledge before it crashes downhill. Hebbe Falls is a lovely picnic spot, with the spray turning the surroundings dewy. The Kalhatti Falls that cascade down 122 meters is another major attraction, about 10 km from Kemmanagundi.

Trekking, hiking, enjoying a picnic are some of the outdoor activities in Kemmanagundi that you can enjoy. The hills are home to numerous tea and coffee plantations and covered with thick forest and bamboo groves. With waterfalls, lush foliage, trekking routes, and mountain trails, Kemmanagundi has much to offer in terms of outdoor activities and natural beauty.
