Situated about 115 km from Pune, Mahabaleshwar is one of the largest hill stations in the Sahyadri range in Satara district of Maharashtra. Perched at an altitude of about 1372 meters Mahabaleshwar has a cool climate and offers a spectacular view of the surrounding hills and valleys. This mesmerizing destination has an old Shiva temple sited in the deep forests and source of five rivers. River Krishna, which is the second longest river of India also originates from this point


Mahabaleshwar generally has a cool climate round the year. The peak season is from March to May and the place experiences heavy rains during the monsoons from July to September

How to Reach

Mahabaleshwar is best accessible by road. There are buses plying from both Mumbai and Pune to Mahabaleshwar. You can also take a train from Mumbai or Bangalore till Satara and then take a bus or a taxi to reach this beautiful destination.

There are many things to do in Mahabaleshwar like trekking, horse riding, boating in Venna Lake. One can go to Kate Point or Wilson point to watch the beautiful sunrise or Bombay Point or Elphinstone Point to view the mesmerizing sunset. The Lingamala Falls are best to visit post the monsoons
