Rishikesh

Rishikesh is located at a distance of 24 km from Haridwar. It lies in the laps of the lower Himalayas. Situated in the foothills of Himalayas beside the Ganga River, this city is also renowned for being the center of studies of yoga and meditation.

Home to India’s popular adventure sports like river rafting, bungee jumping and air safari, the city has been the favourite spot for visitors from the last several years. The holy river Ganga is quite amazing and breath taking here that enhances the beauty of the place.

Weather

The best time to visit Rishikesh is from September to May. The temperature during the summer season varies between 40°C and 15°C. During this period the hot climate doesn’t allow people to explore and enjoy.

The monsoon arrives in the month of June and lasts till September. The monsoon season at the place compels people to enjoy the lovely atmosphere. Heavy rainfall is normal at this place. Humidity is quite high and the temperature at the place drops down from the summer peaks.

The winter season at the place starts from the month of October and lasts till the month of February. The lowest temperature at the place is around 6° C. The cool atmosphere compels tourists to visit the place and enjoy the blessed beauty.

How to Reach

The nearest airport to reach Rishikesh is the Jolly Grant airport, Dehradun, which is around 35 km from the city. All the major airlines regulate services to major cities and connect them to Dehradun.

Rishikesh is well connected to all the major roads and national highways and can be easily reached from all the parts of the country.

Though there is a station in Rishikesh, but not many trains are operates from here. Haridwar is the nearest Railhead that is well connected with all major cities and can be reached easily from Rishikesh too.
