How to Reach
Located on Konkan coast, Tarkarli does not have its own airport. The approachable airport to this city is Dabolim (Goa) which connects this region with different parts of the country. It is around 80 km away from the center of Tarkarli. Another airport is Kolhapur Airport which is approximately 115 km away from the Tarkarli. The nearest railway station to the city is Kudal which is approximately 45 km away from Tarkarli.
Dhamapur Lake: The clear water of the lake as well as the tranquil atmosphere will give immense pleasure to mind. Spread in an area of 10 acres, the lake is a perfect place to take pleasure of water sports. Don’t forget to enjoy boating here.
Karli Backwaters: At the confluence of the Arabian Sea and the Karli River lies the Karli Backwaters which is the only one of its kind in the state of Maharashtra and inevitably one of the best in the world. Achra Beach: It is one of the Tarkarli attractions which offer breath taking views. The 2 meter high waves provide a sensational experience as well as great pleasure to heart. Near to the beach is the 250 year old Lord Rameshwar (Shiva) temple.
Shree Shivchhatrapati Temple: This religious place has its own importance in the heart of every devotee therefore they visit here throughout the year to worship God. The temple was dedicated by Rajaram to his father, the Maratha King Chhattrapati Shivaji. Later, in 1695, the temple was given the name Shree Shivchhatrapati Temple.
